JORDAN Clarke is a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Maidstone due to a toe injury.

The defender missed last weekend’s defeat at home to Barnet due to a problem that has plagued him all season.

The defender was a virtual ever present in his first season at Boundary Park last year, but already this term has missed three games through the issue which caused his absences against the Bees.

Clarke is undergoing treatment but is unlikely to be fit in time to make the journey to Kent.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler has missed out on a place at this year’s World Cup with Canada.

The Latics stopper, who missed a number of games due to international duty in his first season with the club, did not make the cut among the goalkeepers selected by Canada manager John Herdman in his 26-man squad.

Dayne St Clair of Minnesota United, Montreal’s James Pantemis and Milan Borjan, who plays for Red Star Belgrade, are all heading to Qatar, for what is the North Americans’ first appearance in the tournament since 1986.

Leutwiler was involved with the squad for their World Cup qualilfiers earlier this year, but has slipped down the pecking order for Canada after struggling to re-establish himself in the Latics’ line-up since John Sheridan returned to replace Selim Benachour in January.

The former Blackburn Rovers keeper’s only game this season was in the FA Cup first round defeat at Wrexham.
