Oldham Athletic boss David Unsworth is looking to make further changes to the squad to kick-start their season.

Latics go into Saturday's visit of Dorking Wanderers having picked up just six points from their opening seven games.

But Unsworth is working on ways to encourage an upturn in form, including making signings - and making space for them with player exits from the current squad.

Having twice seen a lead slip to draw 2-2 at Gateshead in Saturday's televised fixture, the Latics boss said recruitment was something they were continuing to explore, having already added eight new faces to the squad since last season.

Asked whether making further signings was an option, Unsworth said: "Absolutely. There'll be players leaving - at least three or four leaving - and hopefully a couple more coming in."

Of the time frame anticipated on the transfer movement, the Latics boss added: "Maybe (this) week, but it might be the week after."

Competition for places is at its most fierce up front, with summer signings James Norwood and Kurt Willoughby adding to the existing attacking options of Joe Nuttall, Alex Reid, Mike Fondop and Hallam Hope, while there has been previous interest in Ben Tollitt, who has been absent from the last three matchday squads.
