Joe Nuttall is set to complete a transfer deadline day loan move to League One Cheltenham Town.
The 27-year-old only joined Oldham Athletic 14 months ago but has not made a National League appearance since October and has featured only twice under manager Micky Mellon.
Indeed, Nuttall's last game for Latics, in the FA Cup first round defeat at Newport County, was the last time the former Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool and Scunthorpe United striker featured in the matchday squad at all.
Mellon had been looking to offload certain players as he bids to make the squad his own but had hit a number of dead ends until the closing stages of the January transfer window.
The Oldham Times understands that Nuttall travelled to Gloucestershire earlier today after a loan deal between Cheltenham and Latics was agreed.
Cheltenham have tonight signed striker Matty Taylor on a two-and-a-half year deal from Forest Green Rovers, but this is not thought to affect Nuttall's move.
Nuttall is contracted to Latics until the summer of 2025.
