Oldham Athletic want to pack Boundary Park for Frank Rothwell's long-awaited return.

To welcome the club's intrepid chairman back from his World's Toughest Row challenge, in which he is rowing 3,000 miles solo across the Atlantic Ocean to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's Research UK, Latics have slashed ticket prices for the home game with Kidderminster Harriers later this month to just £1, for both home and away fans, and will donate all gate receipts from the fixture to Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The game, on February 24 (kick-off 3pm) is also a key fixture in Micky Mellon's side's bid to secure a place in the National League play-offs.

A club spokesman said: "Frank has been away since the start of December and is now in the final stages of his solo row across the Atlantic Ocean as he raises funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

"Having faced some hugely difficult conditions during his journey and capsized three times, he has shown tremendous strength and courage to reach this stage.

"Frank is already the oldest person to ever row across the ocean on their own and he is on course to beat that record.

"The club is very proud of Frank and wants to fill Boundary Park to give him a hero’s return for his first home game back.

"Although admission is just £1, there is the option to make a further donation to Frank’s fundraising campaign when completing your purchase and we’re encouraging all supporters to give as much as they can.

"Let’s get down to Boundary Park, create a special atmosphere and give Frank the welcome back he deserves!"

Supporters can purchase their £1 match ticket online at https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/tickets/future-ticketing/ Tickets are also available by visiting Latics’ Ticket Office at the front of the Main Stand off Furtherwood Road.

The game is all-ticket with no option to pay at the turnstiles.

All under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
