Mat Hudson has thanked Oldham Athletic supporters for their backing this season and has vowed the club will come back stronger next term.

The 25-year-old was an almost ever-present this season after getting the gloves in mid-August when the campaign was in its infancy.

Hudson, who kept 12 clean sheets in the league, admitted the way the season fizzled out had been "difficult and frustrating" but praised fans for their loyalty.

Taking to social media after the season ended with a disappointing defeat at home to Wealdstone, Hudson posted: "In what has been a difficult and frustrating end to the season, I just want to personally thank you all for the support you have given myself and the team home and away this season.

"To travel in the numbers that you have week in week out is unbelievable, and is much appreciated, so thank you.

"On a personal note, I'm proud to have played over 50 games for this great club.

"We will be back stronger next season."
