James Norwood makes his first appearance of the season, at home to Gateshead this afternoon.
Last season's 17-goal top scorer goes straight into Oldham Athletic's starting XI after recovering from the calf injury he suffered on the first day of pre-season training.
Mike Fondop, who has led the line for Latics in the opening four games, is named on the seven-man bench.
That means Alex Reid misses out on a place in the squad, having been brought back into the fold over the summer.
Dan Gardner returns to the starting XI in place of Josh Kay, who is injured.
Latics are looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season, a 4-1 humbling at Aldershot Town on Saturday.
This afternoon's opponents Gateshead are unbeaten so far, with three wins and one draw.
In last season's meetings between the two teams, Latics came back from behind twice to draw 2-2 at Gateshead's International Stadium, and lost 2-1 in the return fixture just before Christmas.
