Micky Mellon believes Oldham Athletic have become a powerful force this season, and proved it in their 1-0 win over Yeovil Town.
Latics were looking to build on their impressive 3-1 win at Woking last weekend and were the dominant team at Boundary Park, but had to bide their time until top scorer Mike Fondop sealed maximum points with an expertly executed header.
And Mellon said it was a measure of a resilience that he first noticed in pre-season that his players are prepared to keep fighting to get their rewards.
"I thought we were really good. I thought especially in the second half we looked a really powerful team," he said.
"I would always be honest about my team because players know that when I think they've done really well I mean it. Players don't need to hear that you think they've done well when they know that they haven't. But today they were very good, second half very powerful in every area, made good decisions when we needed to play forward.
"We used Mike better, didn't overuse him, just used him when we felt it was the right thing to do and I just thought it was a really powerful performance. I really don't think our keeper had a save to make.
"We should have had more goals, we had more chances and again could have been done with being a bit more clinical but we did all the things that were right in order to try to win a game of football."
Asked whether he felt a resilience was emerging, with an unbeaten run stretched to six games, and only one defeat in their first 10 matches, Mellon said: "I think it's been there since the start of pre-season. I noticed it in pre-season when we unleashed the team that you see playing today you could see there was quality in there, when we were playing Shrewsbury and Lincoln and Stockport, you could see there was something strong.
"But we're not going to start patting ourselves on the back, we've won a game of football and we've got ourselves into a good position in the league after 10 games."
