SAM Hart insists he is a ready to put it all on the line for Latics.

The left back has been signed from relegated Southend to try and bolster Oldham’s backline next season, penning one-year deal with the option of another 12 months.

And the former Manchester United and Liverpool youngster says supporters should expect maximum effort week in, week out from him during his time at Boundary Park.

“I’m an all or nothing kind of player, I put my heart on the pitch and love going forward,” said the 24-year-old, part of a small group who had their first pre-season session yesterday.

“I love creating chances, I love crossing the ball. I’ll always give it my all, that’s something I’m known for.”

Hart joined the Shrimpers from Blackburn permanently last season after a previous loan spell in what was a key move in his career as he looked to establish himself at first-team level.

He feels that, despite a tough campaign that ended in relegation, he did that and is now looking to kick on again with Oldham.

“When I was young I started off at United and went to Liverpool which is a move that your rarely see,” he told the club.

“From that I went to Blackburn and had loans here and there and last year I wanted to really get going in football and start playing as many games as possible.

“I went to Southend which was a good experience for me, moving away from home, seeing the world differently, maturing.

“The end result wasn’t the one we wanted as a team but personally I feel like I got a lot out of the season.

“I played games and achieved what I wanted to achieve. As a team it didn’t got to plan but I’m just excited to be here now.”

One of five signings announced on Tuesday, Bolton-born Hart was impressed by what Keith Curle had to say as he sold him his Latics vision.

“I’m from round here, I know people who’ve played for the club and have always said good things about it,” he said.

“The manager was very honest with me, told me what he wanted from me.

“As a person he seems like a great guy and we had a little talk about football and he came across really well so I’m excited to play for him.”
