Released Latics defender Sido Jombati has joined National League South side Ebbsfleet United.

Jombati endured a tough single season at Boundary Park as part of the leakiest defence in League Two.

He departed at the end of his one-year deal having made 26 appearances in all competitions for Latics, being sent off in the 2-2 draw at Tranmere in February that saw Dylan Bahamboula score a stunning goal to seal a point.

The 33-year-old played just 35 minutes of football under Keith Curle following his arrival in March, being a late substitute in his first game in charge against Port Vale and then waiting two months for his next appearance in the final-day defeat against Forest Green at Boundary Park.

Lisbon-born Jombati joins a club who were eighth in the National League South table when their campaign was curtailed due to Covid after 18 games.

Former Latics loanee Christian N'Guessan is another recent arrival while ex-Oldham frontman Dominic Poleon joined the club in February and agreed an extended deal ahead of the new campaign last month.
