FORMER Latics loanee Serhat Tasdemir has linked back up with Harry Kewell at Barnet.

The attacker has signed a season-long loan with the National League club having been made available for transfer by parent club Peterborough United.

The 20-year-old was signed on loan by Kewell in February and after coming off the bench to make his debut in a 4-3 defeat at Forest Green he started the next game, playing the first 50 minutes in a 2-2 draw away to Tranmere.

But in seven appearances for Latics, the attacking midfielder was only on the winning side once – at home to Exeter soon after Keith Curle had replaced Kewell at the helm. But that proved to be his last game for Oldham.

He returned to Peterborough and was transfer listed by boss Darren Ferguson having failed to make a first-team breakthrough at London Road.

The Blackburn-born forward got his EFL move in the summer of 2019 after starring for AFC Fylde in the National League but has been limited to 20 appearances in all competitions for Posh.

“Part of Serhat’s development was allowing him to go out on loan but it has been a disappointing loan for him and that played a part in my decision, " said Ferguson after his Latics stint.
