OLDHAM Athletic are understood to be chasing the signature of Leeds United youngster Robbie Gotts.
But head coach Keith Curle faces competition from both Barrow and Motherwell for the midfielder, who can also play at right back.
The 21-year-old Academy product had loan spells with both Lincoln City and Salford City last season but it is anticipated that his next move will be a permanent one.
Gotts' appearances were limited at Lincoln last term, but he went on to make 23 league appearances for Salford - including 20 starts - and scored three League Two goals.
His only appearances for Leeds came in the Championship against Cardiff and an FA Cup defeat at Arsenal in 2020.
Curle had been hoping to make at least two more signings to bolster an injury-hit before tonight's 11pm deadline.
