A JIM Simms hat-trick ensured another FA Youth Cup win for Oldham Athletic.

Bradford City took a third minute early lead, with Bobby Pointon heading home from close range.

But Latics demonstrated the same spirit they showed in their dramatic first round comeback at Carlisle last month.

Simms equalised with a clinical finish just three minutes after Pointon had put the home side in front.

And there was no looking back for Latics when Simms added his second in the 55th minute, sending a looping header over the Bradford keeper.

Disappointingly, Oliver Kilner was sent off for two quick yellow cards. But it did not knock the youngsters off their stride.

Latics kept the ball well and Simms completed his hat-trick in stoppage time with a shot on the turn from inside the six-yard box.

Oldham's youth team will now travel to Queens Park Rangers for a third round tie.
