FORMER Latics loanee Laurie Walker has signed for relegation rivals Stevenage on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Walker had two emergency loan spells from MK Dons under former head coach Keith Curle.

And it was during his first spell, in March last year, that he made his Football League debut in a 4-2 defeat at home to Cambridge, following injury to Ian Lawlor.

The 32-year-old went on to complete the season with Latics, playing 13 games to help secure their place in League Two.

Walker returned to his parent club, where he signed a new deal, in the summer. But he was back at Boundary Park in August, making three further appearances - including a penalty shoot-out win over Accrington Stanley in the Carabao Cup - after Jayson Leutwiler experienced registration issues and Danny Rogers was sidelined through injury.

Following a loan spell with Aldershot, he has completed a January move to League Two Stevenage, leaving his boyhood club to reunite with former MK Dons boss Paul Tisdale.

Walker tweeted: "Had the best time being back at the club where it all started and I cannot thank everyone at the club for giving me the opportunity and pathway back in to the pro game it will always mean a lot to me."

A statement from MK Dons read: "The club would like to thank Laurie for his contribution during his time as an MK Dons player and wish him every success in the future."
