OLDHAM Athletic are out of the League Two relegation zone after John Sheridan's unbeaten start stretched to five games with a 2-0 win at home to Bradford City.

Hallam Hope scored his first goal of the calendar year, while in-form Davis Keillor-Dunn continued his scoring streak to secure maximum points against the managerless Bantams.

Bradford ended the game with 10 men after Paudie O'Connor was sent off following an altercation with Hope in the 71st minute, while Tom Elliott had a late goal ruled out for a foul on Danny Rogers to make it three clean sheets from five.

Sheridan made two changes to the side which drew at Newport County last weekend. Hope returned to the line-up following injury, in the absence of Mike Fondop and Junior Luamba, while Jack Stobbs replaced the suspended Dylan Bahamboula.

Bradford, under the caretaker watched of Mark Trueman, made a bright start but Latics demonstrated the ruthless streak that saw off Bristol Rovers in their last game at Boundary Park when Hope got on the end of Nicky Adams' cross to send a glancing header past Alex Bass in the 19th minute.

Keillor-Dunn doubled their lead five minutes later with a smart close-range header to take his recent tally to four goals in three games.

Bradford took a more direct approach as they looked to get back in the game and it almost paid off. But their challenge intensified when they found themselves a man down.

Latics looked to capitalise on their numerical advantage and Stobbs went close with a header from another Adams right-wing raid and delivery into the box.
