JOE Royle will be the special guest of a new football phone-in that has been launched for Oldham Athletic fans, by Oldham Athletic fans.

Matt Dean and Dave Bradley have teamed up to create a live football phone-in dedicated to Latics, which is streamed on YouTube every Friday between 7pm and 8pm.

And tomorrow night Latics legend Royle will join the pair for the full hour, taking calls live from fans, The lines will be open for supporters to put their questions to the former Oldham manager, who steered the club to the top flight in the first of two spells in charge, when they later became founder members of the Premier League.

“Since the return of John Sheridan we have wanted to promote some positivity to encourage supporters back into Boundary Park and help the fight for survival,” said Bradley, about the phone-in “We wanted to promote healthy debate about the team’s performance post-match, with pre-match build-up for upcoming fixtures.”

And the duo are pleased with the response they have received having launched the phone-in just a fortnight ago.

“The first two weeks have been really good, getting over 700 views,” explained Bradley, who is hoping for a bumper following tomorrow night thanks to Royle’s appearance.

“To have Joe Royle agree to come on the show is absolutely fantastic. He loves the club.

“For us to be interviewing ‘the Gaffer’ shows that Oldham is still at the heart of many fans despite the off-pitch dramas.”

Anyone interested in tuning into the phone-in can log on to https://youtube.com/c/TheBoundaryParkAlertSystem tomorrow night. The show can also be watched on catch-up.
