OLDHAM Athletic's League Two clash at Crawley Town on Saturday has been postponed.

A statement on the home side's website said: "As a result of positive COVID-19 cases within the Crawley Town camp, Saturday’s fixture at The People’s Pension Stadium has been postponed."

The Latics then put the news on their own club website.

Their statement read: "This is due to a number of positive COVID-19 cases. The hosts indicating to the EFL that the fixture would be unable to be fulfilled.

"With the increased rate of transmissions from the Omicron variant, the health, safety, and welfare of everyone connected with both clubs during another challenging period is of the utmost importance and will ensure those affected can recover swiftly.

"A rearranged date and match details for supporters who were already attending will be made in due course with tickets remaining valid.

"For those who require a refund the ticket will need to be returned, so please email supporter.services@oldhamathletic.co.uk to arrange this."

Latics now have an extended break before their next scheduled game, on Boxing Day at home against fellow League Two strugglers Scunthorpe United.
