ROUGHYEDS have parted company with coach Matt Diskin, following Sunday's 18-4 home defeat by Dewsbury Rams - their seventh Betfred Championship defeat in a row and their ninth in their last 10 league games.
The decision takes effect immediately, as does the club's search for a successor.
Second-in-command Brendan Sheridan will take charge of training tonight.
Oldham are without a game this weekend, their scheduled match at Toulouse Olympique having been cancelled by the RFL for Covid-related reasons.
Chairman Chris Hamilton said: "This is never something I like doing and in this case I feel sorry for Matt because the mistakes we are making are not down to coaching.
"They are costing us games, however, and we need to do something to get us into the dog-fight to stay in the Championship.
"Matt has worked very hard during his time at the club, most of which has been during Covid, which has been very difficult for a number of reasons.
"I've enjoyed working with him too, which makes this decision all the harder, but I have had to do what I think gives the club the best chance of moving forward."
