OLDHAM RLFC is delighted to announce its new partnership with Glo Gym, the ultra-modern and refurbished gymnasium situated in the North Stand at Boundary Park and adjacent to the Oldham Event Centre. Glo Gym becomes the club’s official training partner.

As of Tuesday of this week, Glo Gym has been under new management, Oldham Event Centre having purchased the assets of the business from Wellbeing Leisure.

The new ownership has invested more than £400,000 on new equipment, flooring and a series of other refurbishment works.

The Roughyeds squad will have access to Glo Gym’s state-of-the-art facilities, the club having already had a close association with the Oldham Event Centre and its managing director Simon Brooke for several months.

Announcing the “exciting” new partnership, Oldham RLFC chairman Chris Hamilton said: “We are naturally delighted to have concluded this partnership agreement with Simon and his colleagues at Glo Gym. It will underpin the foundations we’re looking at to put in place long term.

“It is a superb facility and we are very grateful to Simon for his assistance in agreeing this deal and the general help and support he has provided to the club over the last few months, particularly through the Oldham Event Centre.

“We hope the partnership will go from strength to strength.”

Simon Brooke, managing director of Oldham Event Centre and Glo Gym, said: “This is a really exciting partnership with Oldham RLFC at a time which is also exciting generally for Glo Gym.

“We have been assisting the club with training facilities for the last few months, but we are looking forward to formalising the partnership and hopefully helping the club to have a successful season.

“Every single piece of equipment at Glo Gym is brand new; we’ve had an extensive, £400,000 refurb; and we haven’t quite finished yet --- there will be further development in the next few months.

“Business has been outstanding since we re-opened a few days ago, capped off now with this really exciting new partnership with Oldham RLFC.”

Roughyeds head coach Stuart Littler couldn’t hide his enthusiasm about Glo Gym.

He said: “When I first came to Oldham we identified specific needs and a good gym was one of them.

“Glo Gym is a fantastic facility and it has just had a major refurb. It will be great for our boys to have use of these facilities.

“It will not only help with performances on the pitch; it will be a huge help to the rehab team when they are working with injured players and trying to get them back on the pitch as quickly as possible.

“To be partnered with Glo Gym is a massive plus and a huge positive for us moving forward.”
