A cafe in Saddleworth has announced it has been shortlisted for yet another award after winning six in the short time it has been open.

Weaver & Wilde is a popular coffee house and bistro situated in the heart of Uppermill on High Street with a plethora of awards under its belt.

The business was crowned the “best coffee house and foodie retailer” at the 2023 Bar and Restaurants Awards for a second year running in May this year, bagging its sixth award in total since opening in 2019.

The cafe was also handed the award last year in recognition of its new shop, Weaver & Wilde Groceries & Provisions, which opened in June 2022.

It also won the Travellers' Choice Award from Trip Advisor twice (in 2021 and 2022), as well as two Northern Enterprise awards.

The Travellers’ Choice Award from Trip Advisor recognises businesses that consistently earn good tourist reviews and are based on ratings posted on the website over the 12-month period from January 1 to December 31.

Meanwhile, the Northern Enterprise Award celebrates dedicated businesses and enterprises across various categories from the north of the country.

Now, the cafe said it has made it onto the shortlist of the Yorkshire Prestige Awards.

In a post on social media, Weaver & Wilde said: "We are very proud of the Yorkshire producers and suppliers that we partner with across both businesses and look forward to growing this when we move over to the 'big shop' later this summer."

The news comes as the owners, Thomas and Cal Rowson-Codd, announced in April it was relocating into a new building at number 42 on the street to "start the next chapter of the coffee house".

A dog boutique, Sidney and Sapphire, and Oldham's "only" record shop, Inner Space Records, once occupied the new Weaver & Wilder building but have now moved together to share a new space just down the road at number 74.

Explaining the move, the coffee house said: "We love our little shop and after three and a half years, we are starting to outgrow it in its current form.

"It has been a long few years, opening just before a pandemic.

"Our thanks, as always to our customers old and new and we look forward to sharing this next step in our journey with you all."

While the move is underway, the owners said the cafe will be closed on Mondays up until the relocation is complete in mid-August.
