Gym equipment has been popping up in a number of outdoor spaces in Oldham over the last few months.
The council has confirmed new outdoor gym equipment will be installed in more locations across the borough, following the latest installation of the equipment at Princess Park and Granby Street Park.
Currently, gym equipment can already be found at six parks, with a further four set to get it in the future.
Where to find the equipment
Arundel Street park
Installed in April, this park has equipment including a stationary bike, elliptical machine, and upper body machines.
Beckett Meadow
Granby Street Park
Installed last month – offering seated row and leg press, amongst other exercises.
High Crompton Park
Princess Park
Installed last month, this equipment offers a shoulder press and cross trainer, next to already-existing playground equipment.
Waterhead Park
Installed in April.
Future locations
For those not already near a location, Oldham Council has announced four more parks set to get the equipment.
Churchill Playing Fields
Stoneleigh Park
The Buxted Road park already has football and rugby pitches, a playground, and tennis courts.
Werneth Park
Home to Grade-II listed music rooms, the park is set to receive outdoor gym equipment.
Whitehall Lane
The fields on Whitehall Lane are already home to a fitness trail, goals, and playground.
