We were invited to take a look inside Oldham’s new Tim Hortons and it did not disappoint.

The opening date of Oldham’s new Tim Hortons is fast approaching.

The Manchester Road location will be opening to the general public on Monday, April 17 at 7am.

Featuring seating for up to 100 customers, the restaurant will be Greater Manchester’s seventh location.

While the restaurant has looked ready to open from the outside for weeks, Oldhamers have been hotly anticipating their chance to get inside.

The brand has said it will award the first customer at the drive-thru and restaurant queue on Monday with free drinks for a whole year, worth £3,100.

The lucky winner will be able to get two medium drinks per day for a year, excluding bottled drinks.

Additionally, the Canadian restaurant brand will also give away a free breakfast meal to the first 100 customers on opening day.

We were invited along for a special preview event, where we got to sample some of the famed Canadian diner’s food.

The restaurant is clearly proud of its Canadian roots, with a poster showing hockey player and chain founder Tim Horton prominently displayed at the restaurant’s entrance, as well as maple leaf branding on the company’s boxes.

Sweet and savoury treats are on offer at the drive-thru location, including freshly baked doughnuts, hot pancakes, and ‘timbits’ – small doughnut balls in boxes of 10, 20, or even 50.

Savoury options include sausage and egg muffins, grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, and wraps.

According to a company representative, the beef burger is halal.

Meatless options are available too, with the ‘Crispy Meatless Chicken’ burger sure to delight vegetarians.

Vegetarian options, including all of the restaurant’s doughnuts, are much more extensive than vegan options, with just a vegan wrap, lattice fries, and a dairy-free coconut Iced Capp drink marked as vegan on the menu, though dairy-free milk alternatives are available to add into hot drinks, too.

Drinks options are extensive, with a large range of ‘Signature Hot Drinks’ including Banoffee Lattes and Red Velvet Hot Chocolates, in addition to standard tea and coffee options.

Cold Drinks include the ‘Iced Capp,’ as well as a range of milkshakes and fruit coolers.

The Manchester Road restaurant is easily accessible, with extensive car parking and bicycle parking. The restaurant is also conveniently located right next to a bus stop, too, served by the 83, 149 and 159 routes.

Those wishing to take something home with them will also be pleased, with the restaurant selling a range of hot chocolate powder and instant coffee, as well as large Tim Hortons-branded mugs, metal straws, and travel mugs too.

The restaurant is cashless, so make sure you have a card or smart payment device to bring along.

If you don’t want to get out of your car, two drive-thru lanes mean you don’t have to. Just be aware of the 3.2m height limit.
