A woman who was said to have been dragged into a car in Failsworth has now been found, police have said.

At approximately 11pm on Sunday, a woman was allegedly pulled into a dark car on Valentine Street.

It is reported that a man got out of the front passenger seat before dragging the woman into the car and then driving away.

Screaming and crying was heard during the ordeal, with a video captured on CCTV footage appearing to show the incident.

But in an update today, Wednesday, police have said the woman, aged in her 20s, has now been found safe and well.

The update comes after "in-depth enquiries by specialist investigators".

Police are still appealing for information following the incident and no arrests have been reported.

Detective Sergeant Jason Byrne of Greater Manchester Police's Oldham CID, said: "We understand that this incident may have rightly caused some alarm in the local community, and we have been working round the clock to understand the full circumstances.

"I want to reiterate that we are investigating this as an isolated incident, and we have deployed extra resources in the area to assist with enquiries and to provide reassurance in the local area.

“Although we have located the woman and she has been found safe and well, we are still appealing for the public’s help to piece together events leading up to the incident and we are really grateful for the information passed to us already, but we still need your help.
